Sottsass Beechwood Mill, Short
This beechwood mill was designed for Alessi of italy in 1993. The vibrant coloring and totem-like structure are both Sottsass hallmarks. The grinder in this mill is suitable for pepper, salt or spices.
Ettore Sottsass is known the world over as one of the initiators of the revolution in architecture and design which occurred in the 1970s and 80s. Before and after the Second World War, strict functionalism was the guiding principal in modern design. The energy of his language and the vitality of his color and line contrasted sharply with the prevailing intellectualism and rigidity. Today he is best known as the founder of the Memphis Design Group.
