This design has its origins in the 1950s, a time when Gio Ponti was achieving international acclaim. It was never actually put in production until 2013 when Sambonet, the Italian manufacturer of Gio Ponti's flatware since 1932, brought the project to light.
The Centerpiece consists of two footed bowls that, when joined together, create a unique modern object. Separately they make a stunning display for fruit or flowers; together a piece of beautiful architecture for the table.
