Logo Tote: 1970s Dansk

A great item for anyone interested in vintage design or graphic design! 100% cotton canvas tote featuring the early 1970s-era logo for the Danish modern housewares brand Dansk. 15-1/4" wide x 25" tall.

Dansk got its start when two Americans, Martha and Ted Nierenberg, traveled to Europe in 1954 to find a set of kitchen products that could be sold to markets in the United States. AT the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen they saw some unique cutlery that was designed by Jens Quistgaard that combined teak and stainless steel. They contacted him about working together and - long story short - created an iconic series of Danish modern designs for the home that endures in popularity today.

The Dansk logo has changed a few times since its founding, but this chunky typeface treatment was a short-lived approach in the mid to late 1970s.
